FOOD INSECURITY AND VULNERABILITY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

( FIVIMS)

The project was implemented in Limpopo province, Sekhukhune district in partnership with HSRC. Novafrica conducted

a situation analysis to maximize the understanding of what exists in reality, existing and potential users of FIVIMS, in

creating the platform to share information on the background and the objectives of the system.

User needs assessment was undertaken to identify the information needs of users, to ground truth the information collected

during the first phase to gauge its accuracy and usefulness, as well as to identify existing monitoring systems that could

be built upon during the second phase of FIVIMS.

APPROACH / METHODOLOGY

 

Through a participatory approach Novafrica undertook the situational analysis with the objective of identifying principal contacts to undertake user needs assessments and ground truthing exercises.
